Sea Ranch Golf Links in Sonoma County, California
Sea Ranch Golf Links is a Robert Muir Graves design that's way up Highway One in Sonoma County.
It's not an easy drive to get to Sea Ranch. It is one of the most picturesque, cliff-hugging, Pacific Ocean-overlooking drives in the world. When you do arrive at the golf course, you'll find an 18-hole course with some views of the ocean and plenty of Pacific breezes.
The front and back nine at Sea Ranch Golf Links were built 22 years apart, and it can play almost like two different golf courses. Graves gives you much tighter openings and more challenge on the back. But the most scenic hole on the course - the par 3 eighth with views of whales in the sea below in the winter - is on the front.
Sea Ranch Golf Links isn't a golf course that's in great shape. It's rough around the edges and an adventure all around. One that will include plenty of close encounters with deer.
