Royal Vista Golf Club in Walnut offers 27 holes of southern California fun in the sun
WALNUT, Calif. -- Designed by Ted Robinson, Sr., 50-year-old Royal Vista Golf Club is a golf institution in the Los Angeles area. This former private club has three nines, all of them different and designed to accommodate every level of player.
One constant, however, are the greens. They tend to run fast -- faster than they look -- and with plenty of undulation. Some pin positions can evoke three- and even four-putts.
The nines aren't long, with the lengthiest combination being the East-North at 6,435 yards. The golf course has also undergone recent improvements with more underway by the new ownership group. Most noticeable has been the greens. Not only are they fast, but they are also smooth and consistent, making Royal Vista one of the better bargains in the L.A. area.
