The other course near the southern shore of Lake Tahoe: Lake Tahoe Golf Course
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. -- Lake Tahoe Golf Course may not have the pedigree of its neighbor Edgewood Tahoe, six miles to the north, but it shouldn't be overlooked by anyone making a trip to the South Shore of Lake Tahoe to play golf.
Opened in 1962, this William Bell design is nestled in a meadow with plenty of views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Upper Truckee River runs through seven holes of this par-71, 6,741-yard layout that has plenty of character, especially on the back nine.
Every tee box at Lake Tahoe Golf Course offers views of Mount Tallac, Twin Peaks and the top of Heavenly Peak. The golf course is also the only Certified Audubon Sanctuary Course in South Lake Tahoe.
Lake Tahoe Golf Course
Edgewood Tahoe may get the accolades, but Lake Tahoe Golf Course, while not on the lake, doesn't lack in the scenery department either.
