DoubleTree Golf Resort in San Diego
Located just north of downtown San Diego, DoubleTree Golf Resort features an on-site hotel and 18 holes of golf. It's one of the area's better stay-and-play values, with comfortable and large guest rooms located right beside the pro shop.
The parkland-style golf course, which was designed by William F. Bell, winds up and down rolling hillsides and plays 6,428 yards from the championship tees. While there are many short par 4s here, there are still some 400-yard plus par 4s as well as back-to-back par 5s on the front nine that give the par-72 layout some meat.
The facility is managed by Arnold Palmer Golf Management and is kept in good condition, especially considering the course is one of the area's most affordable, full-length tracks. While there is no driving range, there are several practice greens, hitting nets and a short game range allowing shots up to about 120 yards.
