Arrowood Golf Course in Oceanside
OCEANSIDE, Calif. -- One of San Diego County's newest golf courses is Arrowood Golf Course. The club debuted in 2005 and was designed by Ted Robinson Jr. It is set on rolling hillsides playing beside a mix of farmland and residential areas. While the entrance to the course heads through the community, the course itself is surprisingly natural and void of housing at most points, especially on the front nine.
The par-71 golf course has four sets of tees and plays 6,721 yards from the championship tees, while it can play 5,253 yards from the front tees. Arrowood has generous fairways but tough greens and large bunkers. The signature hole of the course comes on the 16th, a long par 4 that plays sharply downhill from a blind tee box. The green is surrounded by water, too. The finishing hole has more opportunity for disaster as water guards the front of the green and requires a good carry over the pond.
Facilities at Arrowood G.C. include a pro shop, small grill and practice center, including a full-length driving range.
